So, your new site is up on the net. It contains fabulous content. It is attractive, neat, and worthy of visitors. However, you realize that the amount of visitors that you get seems to be little. Sometimes, it decreases! How can you stop that? Want to increase visitors? Read this tutorial!
Methods
There are many methods that one must follow in order to gain visitors. Here are some important ones.
Affiliation
Affiliation is a major influence to gaining visitors. Affiliation is when two sites exchange links, and links are often displayed on every page of the site. You can also count your affiliate as a type of partner and friend. Most sites open affiliation, so you can apply there if you meet their requirements. Once your site has some visitors, you can open affiliation yourself!
Link Exchanges
Link exchanges are similar to Affiliation. The only major difference is that link exchanges are usually found on one page of the site. Link exchanges are really easy to get into, so apply for link exchanging with other sites :)
Plugboards
Plugboards are boards where you post your site button and URL. People can then click on your site, and you'll get more visitors! However, this may attract some spam, so do be careful! Also, don't spam the plugboard yourself! Only add your site like once per month ^_^
Chatting
Chatting with others, you can become friends and attract more visitors as well. However, don't chat if you just want to "advertise". First, it would seem insincere, and second, it would be rude for others to know you just want to chat to attract visitors. Chatting is not a way to attract visitors, but a way to make friends.
Forums
Pretty much the same as chatting. Forums are actually fun to participate in! Sometimes, forums have threads dealing with advertising, so you can post your site there!
These are only a few methods that you can use to gain visitors. Just keep in mind: attracting visitors also means new friends. Don't apply for affiliation, link exchanges, join chatting, forums, etc. just to advertise. You join and apply for those to make new friends and have a good time :)
